A Note from Miguel Flores

I have worked and lived as an artist my entire life. I have an understanding that what I have done is art and fills a very important need in the lives of those who respond to my work. I enjoy knowing that my work has structure and quality and is capable of fulfilling a spiritual and authentic space in my life and in the lives of those who appreciate my work.

Born in Los Angeles, I studied privately with artists I admired by posing for them. I was an outrageous model, I had a repertory of classical poses from the masters. I especially favored the flying poses--bodies falling through space!
I received inspiration while traveling in Europe and especially the Monet gardens at Giverny, later to do large paintings on that theme. Creating my Venus and Adonis sculpture in bronze is one of my greatest experiences.
